30A's newest - and perhaps the most visually striking - community features architecture influenced by the stark white estate homes of Bermuda. When complete, the 158-acre resort town will be twice the size of nearby Seaside and will consist of 900 custom villas and courtyard homes. The community features a 21-acre nature preserve, an amphitheater, neighborhood parks, tennis courts, and Caliza of the most elegant new swimming pools and restaurants in the world. Alys Beach is the first Fortified for safer living community in the world, as designated by the Institute for Business & Home Safety, a national non-profit organization that works to include the latest disaster-resistant features, enhancements and construction technologies into new homes.

Comment about Alys Beach:
Caliza
"Caliza is the stuff that dreams are made of," wrote Beth Dunlop, an architecture critic for The Miami Herald, and indeed, Caliza's dramatic design (by Alys Beach residents and Town Architects, Erik Vogt and Marieanne Khoury-Vogt) features a 50'x100' saltwater pool, a 60' family pool, a 75' lap pool, and secluded outdoor living areas flanked with tropical palms and gardens. Not an Alys Beach homeowner or guest? Don't worry. Caliza's blindingly beautiful architecture - punctuated with arched colonnades, private cabanas and bubbling fountains - can be enjoyed by making reservations at the poolside restaurant.
Fonville Press
Fonville Press is a courtyard coffee shop, newsstand and wine bar, often featuring live music on weekends. It's a magical spot to sit and relax, while the kids dash around and play on nearby Fonville Hill.
The Butteries
Before refrigeration (and even before ice was manufactured), homes in Bermuda's hot island climate often maintained "butteries"-detached minaret-shaped structures designed to make, store and preserve butter, milk and other perishable foods. But the four white "butteries" perched along 30A in Alys Beach preserve something quite different: Sixteen unique murals depicting scenes of the region's history and heritage. Open to the public, the murals were created by Concetta Rothwell Morales, a highly talented and recognized mosaic muralist.
